Kitchen Shelf Clock

rosette Victorian Walnut Gingerbread Kitchen Shelf Clock

Dated 1879, this Victorian gingerbread kitchen shelf clock is made of walnut which has been partially refinished. All parts are original; the minute hand is broken in half, so it is a bit short. The gold filigree on the glass is in very good condition, the clock does run, but has a replacement pendulum. Chimes on the hour and half hour. Walnut case has lots of Victorian carvings.

Measures: 21" high x 13" wide x 4-1/2" deep.

Jasperware Clock

rosetteJasperware Clock

When we bought this beautiful green jasperware clock, it was missing all its internal workings. The face was beautiful porcelain and original, but there was nothing behind it. We tried for a brief time to locate works to fit into it, but since we were unable to find anything that fit just right, we opted to put a battery movement into it. We were able to do this without changing the face plate or altering anything that was original to the clock, and at least it now has a working mechanism. If an original works is found, it can be easily put into the clock by just removing the battery movement. The case is marked 'Germany' as shown in the pictures. Thanks to an email from a knowledgable person, we now know the clock was made by the New York and Rudolstadt Pottery company in Thurlingia, Germany. This company was founded in 1886 and ceased operation in 1918. The backstamp on this clock was registered on May 2, 1896. The design is on both sides and the top as well. Condition is superb with no cracks or chips; however, there is a factory imperfection on the lower right front foot (see close-up).

Measures: 12-1/2" high x 11-1/2" wide.
